Industry gathers for Pro Connect Middle East
UAE: The Middle East’s A/V industry gathered for a night of networking at the second Pro Connect Middle East in Dubai. Held outdoors on the 47th floor Zephyr Lounge at Dubai’s Warwick Hotel, the event saw a diverse crowd of installers, distributors, rental companies and manufacturers talk business and make new contacts in an informal setting.
While the event was hosted as a networking opportunity for around 100 members of the local and international audio, A/V and broadcast industry, it also provided the chance to announce some significant news. In a brief address in keeping with the relaxed atmosphere, James Ling unveiled the name change of Pro Audio Middle East to Pro Audio MEA.
‘We always look at these events as our way of saying thank you to everyone who has supported us for so long, but it was also a great chance to let everybody know about our name change,’ explained Mr Ling, editor of Pro Audio MEA. ‘We have spent the last few years expanding our readership and coverage into Africa, mirroring what many Middle Eastern companies are doing. The name change is the final step in this process and it was greeted with universal enthusiasm by our guests at Pro Connect Middle East.’
‘It was lovely to see so many people from the regional industry join us at Pro Connect Middle East,’ added Pro Audio MEA sales director, Sue Gould. ‘We want these events to be relaxed and provide people with the opportunity to make connections that will be beneficial for their business in the future. The event did exactly that and was met with real enthusiasm from everyone who was able to join us. I’m certain we will host another one of these nights in the near future.’
