Iraq Ministry of Foreign Affairs continues Televic install

IRAQ: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) in Baghdad has added a wired Televic Confidea system to its conferencing setup. The system was installed over a four week period by the manufacturer’s local partner Rayanat Co.

Two years ago, Rayanat installed Televic CE2500B DML conference and voting systems in MOFA’s two main meeting rooms. The company returned in August to install a third system consisting of 34 Confidea L-DI delegate units, two Confidea L-CI chairman units and four ID2500 interpreter units all connected to the CE2500 central unit. According to Karim Mohammed, vice general manager at Rayanat, there were a number of reasons to install the Confidea system, but one of the key factors was that it was an ‘all in one system with no limit to future expansion’.

Mr Mohammed described the project as a ‘plug and play installation’ with no major challenges. ‘We faced only one small problem in presenting the voting results on the big screen, so we called the Televic support centre and they advised us to disable the firewall of our PC and everything went ok.’

Rayanat is planning to return to MOFA in the near future for a further project. It will add 50 IR receivers and three 25W IR transmitters to one of the meeting rooms. The company has also been involved with a further Televic installation at the Prime Minister’s office where it supplied and installed two 25 delegate Confidea systems.
