Meyer Sound hosts Dubai training

UAE: Meyer Sound’s UAE office recently hosted a pair of two-day training sessions in Dubai. The first seminar was aimed at integrators while the second covered live sound.
In the first session, the manufacturer’s Dubai-based support manager Chris Mead and Middle East sales director Mauricio Saint Martin covered off the installation and commissioning of low voltage Meyer Sound speakers, as well as CAL column arrays. Students were also introduced to the manufacturer’s modelling software, MAPP online Pro. The training also covered the use of Compass Software to control the Galileo processors.
The second training event was targeted at rental house technicians and covered speaker systems setup and alignment. Participants were presented with explanations into the operation of professional tools for design, analysis and setup. A dual channel FTT analyser was used to test the response of the speakers as well as the changes while using Galileo. Techniques for making decisions about line array splay angles and aiming were also covered, as well as modern subwoofer methods for directing the lower frequencies in the desired direction, such as using cardiod sub setups.
Participants at the events were very pleased with the training. ‘It was fantastic seminar. We should have more of these in order to get an in-depth knowledge of sound systems and how to tune a system more accurately and quickly,’ said Balkrishna Reddy from the Dubai World Trade Centre.
‘It was interesting and full of useful information. I paid attention of every single part of the seminar because it was more technical than marketing a brand,’ added TechnoPro’s Hadi Nassar.
Meyer Sound is planning to host more training in Dubai later in the year.
