MGG Productions puts SD Ten through its paces

SOUTH AFRICA: MGG Productions has taken delivery of a DiGiCo SD Ten console with stage box using HMA optics. The desk was supplied by local distributor Tadco, and the production company has already put its new desk to use on two back-to-back shows.
MGG already owns an SD11 console, so the new purchase adds ‘operational consistency’. The SD Ten has been well received by the team at MGG, with managing member, Mark Gaylard, describing it as ‘a very cool piece of kit that both his staff and many freelance engineers want to work with’.
The new desk was put to use at FOH for the Metro FM Awards and the Discovery Leadership Awards. Freelance sound engineer and system tech, Adriaan van Der Walt, was the FOH engineer on both gigs, and has worked on DiGiCo consoles many times in the past. ‘The main thing about the desk, is, the Versatility. You can configure many inputs with many outputs, with a small footprint,’ he noted. ‘It is reliable, sounds great and is easy to use. Accessing any aspect of the Console is Peanuts!’
