Middle East events call on Stage FX

UAE: Stage FX and sister company Laser Grafix were recently called in to supply a variety of events around the Middle East. Equipment from the Dubai-based special effects companies has been put to use at a number of high profile corporate and public events.
Some of the highlights for Stage FX include supplying CO2 confetti bursts for Abu Dhabi National Media Council’s UAE Flag Day celebrations and a poignant display of poppy petal confetti to fall on the choir during the two minutes silence at the Dubai Poppy Ball 2015. The company also supplied MagicFX power jets for the We Run DXB 10km race and various equipment for a corporate celebration ahead of the 44th UAE National day at Port Rashid. Most recently Stage FX supplied special effects for the awards ceremony for the Emirates Airline Dubai Rugby Sevens.
One of Stage FX’s busiest weekends came with the 2015 Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Stage FX supported different activations around Abu Dhabi with a variety of special effects, including at the Enrique Inglesias and Blur after race concerts. ‘It’s always great fun being a part of the Grand Prix weekend as there’s always such a great atmosphere around the capital,’ said Stage FX general manager, Arran Hopkins.
In terms of Laser Grafix, it was also busy during the Grand Prix weekend supplying lasers for the Yasalam Beats on the Beach concerts, which were headlined by Faithless. It also supported Balcony 8 over four days in JBR with a huge laser display along almost a kilometre of the Walk during celebrations for the UAE’s 44th National Day.
The two companies have also worked together to supply equipment for Oman’s 45th National Day celebrations. The equipment included Stage Flames and the Hurricane Sunshine system, as well as fog machines and lasers.
‘The busy season doesn’t stop here, we’ve still got New Year’s Eve to look forward to, and thanks to our industry - that’s always a busy time of year for us,’ concluded Mr Hopkins.
