IRAN: Danish Interpretation Systems (DIS) and its Iranian partner Cimatech have strengthened their business relationship by signing an exclusive distributor agreement

DIS has always dealt with only one partner in Iran. First it was a company called PSI, but in 2008, when it seemed that PSI wanted to focus more on its consumer business, Amir Kord left the company to form Cimatech and started to concentrate on conferencing only – making it a natural fit for DIS. It was a successful decision for both parties as now most of Cimatech’s turnover is generated by conference systems from DIS.

‘It’s an honour if we’re willing to sign an exclusive distributor agreement, but Cimatech has earned it as this company can be considered as “DIS in Iran”,’ said DIS area sales manager, Chris Hellmuth. ‘They’re focused on our brand, have dedicated sales and technical people who know our product portfolio, they do active marketing, repair and service and even keep stock in order to deliver quickly.’

The agreement was signed in mid May at DIS HQ in Copenhagen. It was the first time Mr Kord had visited the headquarters and he used the opportunity to meet people from various departments, such as logistics, finance and R&D, as well as the owner of Informationsteknik and DIS, Finn Halken.

The conference systems manufacturer has also held a pair of two-day training seminars in Dubai and Bahrain. Both sessions were conducted by product support engineer Anja Loiuse Schmidt and had the aim of enabling every participant to design and install a DCS 6000 solution.

The sessions were designed for project managers, installation technicians and other technicians servicing end users with only selected contacts invited. Overall, more than 50 people from an area spanning Nigeria to Pakistan attended the seminars. The main focus of the training was the hard- and software for the DCS 6000, but also experiences with the CDS 4000 Discussion System were shared between participants.
