New look for GSL

UAE: Dubai-based distributor GSL Professional has redesigned its showroom to highlight the new product range it has in stock and made some changes to its team.
The change to the showroom design has been to provide a more intuitive layout. ‘All our processing from dbx, BSS, Lexicon and Crown is all in one section and we’ve given the larger side of the wall all dedicated towards JBL,’ explained the newly promoted GSL sales manager, Glen Kershaw. ‘We have the new PRX 600 and Sub Compact on demo, as well as the VRX and an Eon setup while the stage remains largely the same,’ he continued. ‘We still have all the AKG cabinets bar one which is now dedicated to JBL with the Contractor 50 satellite speakers.’
The new setup has seen the sales desks move closer to the door in a more central location to provide an improved point of contact and a clear layout for each brand the company represents. ‘It’s more sectioned now, you can take customers to specific areas of the showroom. It’s opened it up nicely.’ Mr Kershaw believes the new design has broadened the showroom and gets the best out of the space.
To support its Harman brands, GSL has also redesigned its showroom’s sign to mirror the new logos. ‘It looks fantastic, it has all the new “by Harman” logos. We want to show our loyalty towards our suppliers and changes they’re making.’
It is not only with the Diera showroom where there are changes for GSL. The distributor is planning to open a new warehouse facility in Jebel Ali at the start of 2011. This site will be used to deal with the export and import of equipment around the GCC and features a large warehouse space as well as offices for administration staff.
Alongside Mr Kershaw’s promotion, the company has also increased its head count as it looks to expand with the addition of Georgi Hristov. Mr Hristov will provide technical assistance for permanent installations. ‘He has been in the market for many years and is incredibly knowledgeable when it comes to London Architect and overall audio networking,’ says Mr Kershaw.
