NoizCalc proves its worth

UAE: d&b audiotechnik’s NoizCalc software has proven its worth to eclipse Staging Services after playing a key role in demonstrating the rear projection of its systems and offsite noise propagation. The solution was used to predict the offsite audio levels at the recent DXBeach event at Zero Gravity.
‘It was the standard DXBeach tried and proven audio setup, however on this occasion we undertook a plan to demonstrate the offset noise propagation of our system using d&b NoizCalc,’ recalled John Parkhouse, head of audio for eclipse Staging Services. ‘Offsite noise is becoming the hot topic in the industry these days, and we were able to predict very precisely how our system would be perceived by nearby residences. We backed this up by taking frequent dB measurements both on and offsite on the day and were very pleased to see how precise we can predict levels. The software calculation was pretty much spot on to real world on the day measurements.
‘We have been using d&b NoizCalc since it came out earlier in the year, but this is the first time we have used it to demonstrate to a client what they can expect,’ continued Mr Parkhouse. ‘The results were very pleasing. I was then able to compile a comprehensive report for the client following the show with all the data acquired. Yet another great d&b tool to assist us in being at the cutting edge of the industry.’
