UZBEKISTAN: A major broadcast infrastructure upgrade is underway at the National Television and Radio Company of Uzbekistan (NRTV). The project includes the replacement of SD technology with IP-TV systems, creating a modern HDTV/IP production environment at the state broadcaster’s headquarters in Tashkent, as well as updating the equipment across its 12 regional studios. German systems integrator BFE Studio and Medien Systeme has been contracted as the prime contractor and is deploying a vast array of Panasonic cameras.
A total of 42 Panasonic AK-UC3000 4K studio cameras have been supplied across NRTV’s broadcasting centre, regional studios and OB vehicles along with 15 PX270 handheld ENG cameras. Additionally, 34 Panasonic AK-HRP1000 remote control panels are to be installed with eight AJ-PX5000 cameras in two new studios that are being built as part of the project. CFE has also delivered 34 AG-PX380GF and 25 AG-PX800GF P2HD cameras, which will be used outside the studio, gathering footage on location.
Further to the camera upgrades and creation of an HDTV/IP environment, 100 editorial workstations will be connected to a central archive. An LTO robotic tape system and a MAM system will be installed for the central archive to connect the 12 regional studios.
