PR Lighting used at the Qatar Emir Cup

QATAR: PR Lighting fixtures were in heavy use by TechnoPro for the 2010 Qatar Emir Cup final at the Khalifa International Stadium in May.

Spectators — including His Highness the Emir, Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani, HH the Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, HRH Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume Jean Joseph Marie of Luxembourg and other local dignitaries — saw Al Rayyan defeat Umm Salal 1-0 to claim the title.

The event at the stadium itself was managed by local events company, Q Media Events, with TechnoPro (Qatar) llc providing a multimedia light and laser show at the closing ceremony and installing light, lasers, LED screens, audio and truss structures.

The design was based around 40 XL1200 automated spots with 20 XL1200 washes providing a colourful backdrop. These conventional moving lights were augmented by 40 XLED 590 moving LED colour wash fixtures (each housing 30 red, green and blue 5W Osram Diamond Dragon LEDs). Completing the installation were eight PR Lighting Mega Color 4000W architectural outdoor fixtures.

The celebration was followed by a concert at Doha Corniche, which was managed by Al Kaas TV, and broadcast live on Doha’s Al Kaas Channel. TechnoPro again provided and installed the automated lighting, LED screens, audio, stage and truss structures for the concert, basing its design around a further 24 XLED 590 colour washes, complemented by 18 XL700 Spot and 18 XL 700 wash.
