Prosound hosts EV Innovations Academy

SOUTH AFRICA: Johannesburg-based distributor, Prosound, recently hosted a three-day training event focused on Electro-Voice products. The Electro-Voice Innovations Academy was presented by EV application specialist, Tony Sawyer, and aimed at enhancing technician and end-user knowledge in audio installation.

The first day of the event was purely for Prosound’s own staff, but the second two days saw more than 60 invited guests attend a variety of sessions. The guests consisted of technicians from theatres and churches as well as music shops and end users.

The second day of the event had sessions on the basics of audio followed by training on EV’s installation product portfolio including the manufacturer’s Innovation Series, N8000 matrix and DX46 processor. These sessions also saw practical examples in IrisNet and a software overview. The event then went on to cover LAPS and EVADA as well as EASE Address with practical examples of each. The final day of the training saw sessions on line array theory and subwoofer arrays, as well as an introduction of the manufacturer’s X1 and X2 speakers and its new microphones.
