UAE: Production Technology (Protec) has recently made some major additions to its inventory. The Dubai-based production company has purchased further equipment from DiGiCo, L-Acoustics and Clear-Com.
Protec has increased its stock of DiGiCo products with a second SD9 as well as two SD11 desks, and three D-Racks. ‘We are a big believer in the DiGiCo brand and will be looking to replace our D5 at some point this season with a larger format SD series desk to complement and enhance our smaller DiGiCo inventory,’ said Protec head of sound, Ed Ross. ‘We also have two of DiGiCo’s Little Red Boxes to facilitate D-Rack sharing between consoles, and one of the new UB-MADI devices for seamless record and playback of 48 channels of Madi via USB.’
The production house has also added to its range of L-Acoustics loudspeakers with several new purchases. Protec has more than doubled its stock of 8XT cabinets with a further 10 meaning the company now has 16 in its inventory. Further to this, it has added four more 115XTHiQs – taking its total to 20 – it has also bought four 12XTs, two 108Ps as well as more LA4 and LA8 amplifiers.
On the comms side, Protec has expanded its range by purchasing two Clear-Com HelixNet digital comms systems as well as a pair of Tempest wireless solutions. ‘This is to work alongside our existing Clear-Com analogue party line systems to provide our clients with clean, versatile communications on site,’ explained Mr Ross. ‘We will also be looking to expand this again towards the end of the year as we see necessary, in terms of the number of belt packs and so forth.’
