Protec purchases K2

UAE: Dubai-based rental house, Protec, has purchased a large compliment of L-Acoustics’ new K2 speakers. Protec believes it will be the first rental company in the UAE to own the new system.
‘Our current order is 64 K2 boxes with complimentary K1-SB low frequency boxes and some more SB28 subwoofers to complement our existing stock,’ said Protec’s Ed Ross. ‘We will be taking delivery of the first 32 K2 boxes in September ready for what promises to be a busy season here in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.’
The rental house has been a V-Dosc rental partner for the last five years and holds a considerable inventory of the manufacturer’s products including the largest stock of Kara in the region and the complete range of point source cabinets. As such, Mr Ross feels the purchase of K2 is a natural step for Protec.
‘We are excited about this purchase as we feel that it really is a massive leap forward in line array technology as it has all the power and sonic quality of V-dosc but with the scalability and flexibility that is crucial to our work, moving from concerts to conferences on a day to day basis in changing environments,’ he explained. ‘We feel strongly that this is the right package for the region and that, as always, L-Acoustics has developed an extremely strong product both from a business perspective but also a sound quality standpoint and we look forward to using it on a multitude of events in the coming year.’
