Provision AVL hosts rigging training at DWTC

UAE: Provision AVL recently held a rigging course at the Dubai World Trade Centre in collaboration with Prolyte Group and Rhino Rigs. Riggers and technicians from companies in Kuwait, Oman, and Bahrain as well as Dubai attended the event, which covered topics such as calculations, slinging and safe rigging for temporary structures in entertainment. The five-day course was led by Rhino Rigs owner, Rinus Bakker.

The course was open to all riggers or technicians and recommended for those who did not previously possess any rigging safety certification. The basics of rigging safely were explored, as were the dos and don’ts and the errors made that have caused stages to collapse in the past.

‘It was pleasantly surprising for us and Prolyte to see the interaction between the different A/V companies in the Gulf and their different methods of tackling rigging and health and safety,’ said Kevin Boujikian, general manager at Provision AVL. ‘Thank you to all those that attended our 2016 Rigging Course in coordination with Prolyte Group and Rinus Bakker. And thank you to Dubai World Trade Centre for top-notch catering and organisation.’
