Sennheiser highlights wireless success at Lusail

QATAR: Sennheiser is pointing to the successful installation of its wireless microphone systems at Lusail Iconic Stadium to highlight how its equipment can be deployed for broadcasting sporting events. The systems were used during the 2015 Handball World Cup and will also cover the planned boxing, handball and basketball championships at the stadium as well as live concerts.
A total of 16 channels of Sennheiser’s wireless microphone and receiver systems from the Digital 9000 range have been utilised as well the EW 300-IEM Series in-ear monitors. The heart of the system is the EM 9046 SU multichannel audio receiver. This covers the UHF range from 470 to 798MHz, incorporating up to eight receiving channels in the unit. The SKM-9000 handheld transmitters are used with an MMK-965 capsule that allows for cardioid or super cardioid characteristics. Along with the handheld microphones, presenters can be miked up using Sennheiser’s EarSet 1 headmics and the SK-9000 transmitter. Sennheiser’s directional antennas have been installed in the catwalk, 30m above the playing field.
