Showtech provides an Outside The Box solution

UAE: The fourth edition of Market Outside The Box (MOTB) formed part of the festivities during the recent Dubai Shopping Festival at Burj Park. MOTB provides designers and vendors with a platform on which to showcase their products. Showtech was contracted to manage the technical production, including audio, lighting and video equipment in addition to a team of engineers.

On the sound side, Showtech flew eight JBL Vertec 4889 line array loudspeakers in an L/R configuration on the main stage with six Vertec 4880 subs, while a Crown I-Tech 9000HD provided power. For monitoring, eight VRX 915 cabinets were deployed onstage, powered by a Crown MA-3600VZ Macro-Tech amplifier and Lab fP 2002 and controlled by a DBX DriveRack 4800 system controller. A Yamaha CL3 was employed as FOH mixer, and a Rio rack stage box, two Pioneer CDJ 2000 players and a Pioneer DJM 800 mixer were also deployed. Showtech also supplied a Yamaha Stage Custom drumkit.

Dotted around the outdoor venue were 12 JBL Eon loudspeakers and in the backline area, Showtech implemented a talk box comprising two RCF HD20 and a pair of pro subs. Meanwhile, the mini theatre area was installed with four JBL SRX728 subs and SRX725 tops, amplified by xTi 4000 and 6000 amp racks and controlled by a 12-channel Soundcraft mixer.

The main stage’s lighting rig comprised 10 Claypaky Alpha Spot 1200s, 10 Claypaky Alpha Wash 1200s, 10 Claypaky Sharpys, 30 LED parcans, four 4way Molefays, six ETC Source Four Profile lights and 12 PAR cans. Control was via an MA Lighting grandMA lighting console and a 24-channel grandMA digital dimmer. Showtech also provided 40 MBI 400w Floodlights and 45 LED batons for the lighting tower, as well as 14 LED PAR cans for the talk box. Four halogens, 24 LED PARs, eight Robe ColorSpot 1200s and an Avolite lighting controller were implemented in the children’s tent.

A 6m x 3.5m P5 LED screen was installed on the main stage with LED processors, an Analog Way Pulse2 switcher and two DVI splitters. The mini theatre’s visual setup included a 6m x 3m 13k projector screen with Panasonic ET-LE20 Lenses, switchers and DVI splitters.
