Space Tune covers Dubai events

UAE: Sharjah-based rental house, Space Tune Events, recently put its audio, video and lighting equipment to use for a pair of high-profile corporate events in Dubai. The company was called in to support the launch of Emirates Law Magazine as well as The Middle East Watch Awards.

The solution supplied for the magazine launch saw Space Tune call on its QSC KW Series speakers for the main PA with the manufacturer’s K10 monitors on stage. Sources for the event included a Shure ULX wireless mic system alongside the manufacturer’s MX12/18 gooseneck lectern mics. It was mixed using an Allen & Heath Qu-16 digital desk.

The visual side of the project called into action an Absen A3 3.9mm pixel pitch videowall taking its sources from an Arkaos Media Master Pro media server. The lighting design called in Acme fixtures controlled via a Hog4 lighting desk.

‘The system was basic but flawless. We ran Wireless Solutions’ DMX kits for lighting which was very reliable and we used an AR2412 digital audio snake which made our sound patching really easy,’ said Space Tune technical director Mark Wehbeh. ‘We had only six hours for setup and rehearsal. One of the main challenges was we didn’t have the right hanging point locations for the screen setup but we used our staging platforms to get to a 1.5m height and then we used our scenic frames with counter weights to create a fast yet reliable support.’

The second event called on a similar setup and again had a visual focus. ‘The challenge here was the multiple seven screen mapping which was done using our Arkaos MediaMaster Servers running in fixture modes and we used the Hog4 to program 98 video cues for the show,’ said Mr Wehbeh. ‘The main teaser video was the highlight of the event as it was designed to map on all screens.’
