SS Stage Structures invests in Africa’s largest stage structure

SOUTH AFRICA: SS Stage Structures has invested in a Eurotruss PR-10 aluminium roof structure, which is described as the largest touring stage roofing structure in Africa. The roof will be put to use for the first time for the Bastille concert tour to South Africa in January.
One of only five of its kind in the world, the roof has a load bearing capacity of 38,000kg and measures in at 35m wide, 15m deep and 16m high. The structure was sold through South African dealer, Prosound, and it will be used for the first time at Emmarentia Dam, Johannesburg.
‘Aluminium roof systems were never for me but deliberations with Eurotruss and Prosound convinced me otherwise,’ said Mike Niksch, owner of SS Stage Structures. ‘Their years of competence and experience, the impressive load bearing capacity of the roof and Eurotruss’ reputation for the best aluminium roof design convinced me that this is the time to get in and create a new standard in roofing.’
SS Stage purchased its first roof from Prosound in the early 1990s. ‘It was almost a no-brainer that we would be working together again to bring the largest roofing structure to South Africa,’ added Mark Malherbe, Prosound technical director.
The stage will be available for viewing from the 7th to the 10th of January in situ at Emmarentia.
