QATAR: Techno Q recently installed a 7.1 surround system using two line array speakers, a number of power amplifiers, eight surround speakers and five front speakers into the Al Rayyan Theatre located in the old town of Souq Waqif in Doha, Qatar.
In order to provide a complete audio system, Techno Q provided a patch panel rack on the back of the stage to give the venue operator the ability to locate the speakers as per a specific show’s requirements. In addition, the team provided the sound treatment materials for the theatre.
The professional sound system is connected to an audio digital mixer located in the main control room – in addition to an analogue back stage mixer that controls the monitor speakers.
To fully cover the client’s requirements, Techno Q designed and installed a fly bar system with two main control panels to operate 13 fly bars for the theatre’s lighting system. Not limited to this, Techno Q also implemented a comprehensive HD broadcasting system by installing five SDHD broadcasting cameras connected to a Panasonic broadcast mixer, five operating screens and a Marten HD recorder. ‘Techno Q have covered the whole theatre for show recording purposes and live shows by installing two huge LED screens,’ said Mohannad Is-Hak, Techno Q project engineer.
In addition, Techno Q provided a full broadcasting infrastructure cabling solution by way of seven multipurpose connection boxes distributed inside the theatre, which are connected to a main OB van.
‘Techno Q exceeded the client’s expectations by providing an LED track system with the two huge suspended LED screens with sensitive sensors, which can help the operator to locate the LEDs in different locations,’ added Mr Is-Hak.
Techno Q also installed a wireless and wired communication system to enable operators to reach each other during live shows, and designed and installed a lighting system for all theatre entrances and for the main stage area. The lighting install comprised more than 300 lighting circuits, in addition to supplying and installing more than 120 show lights and 70 moving heads and the theatre house lights. A Strand Lighting desk was selected to operate the lighting for live productions and for pre-programming shows. The final part of the install involved Techno Q installing a hydraulic lift on the back of the stage.
