Thomsun sees success for Yamaha CIS Solutions

UAE: Thomsun has sold a number of Yamaha Commercial Installation Solution systems into a variety of venues around the UAE. The Yamaha CIS product range includes a growing portfolio of products such as networked DSPs, remote wired and wireless control panels, multichannel amplifiers and surface and ceiling mounted speakers. The Dubai-based distributor has sold solutions to venues in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Al Ain.
Starting in Dubai, a Yamaha solution has been installed at the Al Boom Tourist Village. ‘They are a big Yamaha fan and have used Yamaha across all their sites,’ said Thomsun’s Alok Ghurde. ‘It’s a beautiful Arabic-themed hospitality venue along the creek popular with locals as well as expats and includes a banquet hall, a restaurant with creek side Alfresco dining, children's play area and retail outlets. The zoned BGM system solution uses Yamaha’s cost-effective VS6 surface mount speakers, the MTX DSP processor, XMV Series amplifiers and CD players.’
The distributor has also sold systems into a pair of hotels in Abu Dhabi. ‘The Finz restaurant at the Beach Rotana and Makkani Garden at Hilton Al Ain have both chosen a BGM system based around the Yamaha MTX processor,’ noted Mr Ghurde. Both venues have used a combination of Yamaha CIS products and active and passive PA speakers and amplifiers.
Since these are relatively straightforward systems in terms of their usability and ease of installation and configurations, Mr Ghurde can see a trend developing in the country. ‘The Yamaha DSPs are cutting through into the market and becoming quite popular. They offer flexible processing functions that are essential to applications such as retail stores, restaurant/bars or banquet rooms. They fit very well into the solutions that are needed out here and that is a market that we are very excited about.’
