twofour54 streamlines infrastructure with Avid

UAE: twofour54 has called on the Avid Media Suite and implemented an Avid Service Level Agreement as it aims to streamline and centralise its production processes. The postproduction house has turned to the MediaCentral platform to give it an end-to-end 4K workflow.

Working with a strict budget, the Abu Dhabi-based facility needed to replace its infrastructure with a more streamlined and future-proof solution with additional storage capacity. Following what is described as ‘thorough research’, twofour54 opted for Interplay Production and Interplay Archive asset management systems. In addition it implemented Avid MediaCentral UX, the cloud-based front-end for the Avid MediaCentral Platform. The team also chose an Avid enterprise storage solution that reportedly enables real-time SD, HD, and 4K collaboration and can scale up for larger projects without interrupting production.

Completing the additions, the facility also opted for the Avid Service Level Agreement, which provides free software upgrades for Avid editing systems. The enterprise solution also includes a Spectra Logic BlackPearl Deep Storage Gateway and a Spectra T120 tape library for video footage archiving.

‘Our new infrastructure solution has given us an end-to-end collaborative 4K environment that enables us to maintain the high quality services for which we are renowned,’ said Jamal Al Awadhi, head of commercial for twofour54’s film and TV services division. ‘We greatly appreciate the openness of the Avid solution with its ability to support third party systems, and the additional storage capacity means we can serve more customers.’

‘By embracing Avid Everywhere, twofour54 is able to maintain its competitive edge and attract new customers,’ added Tom Cordiner, VP, EMEA sales, Avid. ‘The flexibility of Avid’s shared storage and licensing arrangements have ensured that their current needs are met while securing an open and scalable solution for future requirements.’
