Udaya Sound adds to inventory for New Year shows

UAE: Dubai-based rental house, Udaya Sound, expanded its inventory to supply a pair of high profile concerts to celebrate the turning of the year. The company has added more nl8 cables, Nexo Geo S12 speakers and Nexo digital amps to its rental stock.
The first event was a concert by Atif Aslam at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium. This concert saw Udaya Sound supply 16 L-Acoustics V-Dosc for the main hangs with 12 SB218 subs for low end support. The new Nexo Geo S cabinets were used for side-fill. Control for the system was via a Yamaha PM5D at FOH while an Avid Profile mixed monitors.
The visual side of the event saw 60 sq-m of LED screens put to use in addition to a pair of 13K Panasonic projectors. Completing the visual setup were Pulse 350 switchers and Arkaos GrandVJ XT software.
The lighting system comprised 40 Claypaky Sharpys alongside 12 of the manufacturer’s Alpha Wash lights flown from Prolyte trussing. Alongside this were Arri 2K and ETC Source4s as face lights alongside eight Martin Professional 3000s.
Over at the Festival City Concert Arena, Udaya Sound also supplied the largest Arabic concert of the New Year celebrations. This was a performance by Amr Diab and Myriam Fares. To cover this concert the company deployed 24 V-Dosc supplemented by 16 SB218. Control was via a DiGiCo SD9 with Madi recording at FOH and an Avid Profile desk at monitors.
The lighting rig included 64 Claypaky Sharpys, 24 Robe 1200 Wash and the same number of Robe 1200 Spots. The Solution was completed with Arri 2K and ETC Source4 fixtures. Visually, the rental hose supplied 48 sq-m of P8 LED and 80 sq-m of P3 screens.
