Datavideo saves time for Covenant Vision

SINGAPORE: Covenant Vision ministry in Singapore is using its Datavideo eight-channel video switcher to speed up the process of getting its message out.

‘We have a three camera setup with an eight channel video switcher, which allows us to get different angles when we record,’ said Andrew Teo, head, Covenant Vision media and resources. ‘The purpose of the equipment was recording the messages that were being preached,’ he explained. ‘We record the messages and upload them to our media centre,’ continued Mr Teo. ‘We record on average two messages a week, sometimes up to three. This is sent out over the web. People can watch it online or download audio versions of the message from our media centre.’

Editing these messages together from a three camera setup used to be a long and involved process. However, with the Datavideo switcher the time has been drastically reduced to only four hours. ‘With the video switcher we can do everything live and it saves us a lot of time. Previously without the media switcher I was shooting from three different cameras and trying to cut everything together. It’s the time that we save which is the vital thing.’

According to Mr Teo, it was the affordability of the product that was behind the purchase. ‘The reason I use Data Video is because I think they are very affordable. We are a ministry not a business, everything we have is dependent on donations so price is very important.’

He is also keen to point out that the level of technical support he has received from the company is ‘more than adequate’.
