Designed for live sound artists and engineers, Ultimate Ears has introduced its 18 Pro custom in-ear monitors.

Featuring the company’s first six-speaker design, the Ultimate Ears 18 Pro monitors are hand crafted and reduce ambient noise by as much as 26dB. Customised to each individual’s ear, the monitors feature a proprietary six-speaker design that fits six individually tuned drivers in each ear. The new monitors combine four-way crossovers with acoustic and electrical tuning, triple-soundchannels and a new low-distortion cable. Passive crossover technology electrically separates the low, mid and high sound frequencies and directs them to Ultimate Ears-designed speakers that reproduce accurate sound.

Each sound channel includes an acoustically tuned in-line filter that keeps the frequencies separate and balanced. For an additional fee, the monitors are available with an optional ambient feature to allow for stage bleed while controlling the isolation effect. The monitors are compatible with wireless transmission systems and portable media devices and are packaged in a rugged, personalised aluminium box.
