Genelec is now shipping the 4020A and 4030A two-way active loudspeakers. Designed for indoor commercial and professional installations with new connectivity and installation features, both of the new models have built-in protection circuitry, ensuring that the drivers are electronically protected from signal peaks and misuse of the system. The precise Room Response controls including calibrated bass tilt, treble tilt and bass roll-off, optimise the loudspeaker’s response to different acoustical environments. Mounting is simplified with integrated support points for Omnimount 20.5 series hardware on the enclosure back panel, and a UNC threaded hole at the base of the enclosure.

Audio Distribution over IP is a new technology that will be applied by the Finnish manufacturer for their future products. It has been designed to transport uncompressed, high-quality audio over a standard LAN network, to create multichannel IP-based audio systems. As LAN networks already exist in most office premises the Audio-over-IP solution will have a wider application in the corporate environment. The replacement of dedicated audio cabling with LAN networks delivers significant cost savings to the integrator. Further benefits include speedier and flexible system set-up in which complex multi-room audio systems can often be configured with a ‘plug-and-play’ approach, while ongoing maintenance and remote monitoring, such as device health, power status and settings can also be controlled via the LAN network.
