A-T unveils first Dante-enabled microphone

Leading a host of new microphone releases from Audio-Technica is the new Dante-enabled ATND971. The mic can communicate directly with the network via a single ethernet connection, and via the mics programmable user switch, is reportedly able to control any of those devices. The unit is powered with PoE, and houses a red/green LED status indicator.

The manufacturer has also unveiled two new flush-mount LED equipped boundary microphones designed to increase the quality of audio in presentation environments. The ES945/LED omnidirectional and ES947/LED cardioid condenser microphones both feature 360-degrees LED indictor rings and are reportedly being made available exclusively to contractors and integrators. Both models house phantom-powered mics equipped with a 3-pin XLRM output and use UniGuard RFI-shielding technology the limit radio interference. 

The last of the new microphone related products unveiled is the AT8657/LED flush-mount socket, allowing users to add remote switch and LED functionality to a 21mm gooseneck or button-style boundary mic. The socket houses a 5-pin XLRM output connector for both audio and control, functions.

Lastly, A-T has developed a free iOS application for systems integrators, contractors, and FOH engineers. The Installed Sound App, which was reportedly the result of direct feedback from industry professionals, consists of several tools to aid workflows, such as a mic application guide, and various audio calculators and meters. The app can be downloaded from the Apple App Store and is compatible with users running iOS 5.1 or higher.
