AAX compatibility for CEDAR Studio

CEDAR Audio has announced an AAX version of its award-winning CEDAR Studio audio restoration software suite. Originally launched in 2011 in the RTAS and AudioSuite formats and comprising a range of the company’s audio restoration processes, the suite is now available as CEDAR Studio AAX for AAX Native applications.
CEDAR Studio comprises advanced processes that allow the end-user to eliminate a wide range of common audio problems, thereby significantly improving sound quality. Each process has been drawn from the company’s CEDAR Cambridge flagship system.
Among the processes is the DNS One dialogue noise suppression system, which uses the same technology as the Academy Award winning DNS1000. The process boasts a multi-mono interface (DNS CS) that allows control over hundreds of channels of noise suppression (any mix of software and hardware) from a single Pro Tools host.
Also included is Declip, with which end-users can identify and remove most instances of clipping in a single pass; Adaptive Limiter, which calculates a continuously varying EQ profile that constrains the peak level of the output while retaining the integrity of the input; and Debuzz, which removes unwanted signal components across the entire audio spectrum, and is, says the company, ‘capable of removing all manner of buzzes and hums with fundamentals as high as 500Hz’.
CEDAR Studio AAX is available for Pro Tools 10 and upwards on either PC or Mac systems.
