Additions across Panasonic’s projector range

Panasonic has unveiled a variety of new projectors included what the manufacturer describes as ‘the world’s smallest and lightest, powerful three-chip DLP projectors’ in the shape of the PT-DZ13K Series.

The new series includes four models; PT-DZ13K with 12,000 lumens and WUXGA resolution, PT-DS12K with 12,000 lumens and SXGA+ resolution, PT-DW11K with 11,000 lumens and WXGA resolution and PT-DZ10K with 10,600 lumens and WUXGA resolution. The PT-DZ13K series is designed with Panasonic proprietary dual lamp system and features new 380W lamps. Other features include a contrast ratio of 10,000:1 and Detail Clarity Processor 3.

The projectors are equipped with dust-resistant cabinets and a new reusable Eco Filter, while a Lamp Relay mode reportedly guarantees continuous 24/7 operation and an efficient cooling system keeps operational noise to a minimum. Also offered is a lens memory function that enables presets such as zoom, focus and lens shift. The built-in Geometric Adjustment function facilitates projection onto spherical, cylindrical and other specially shaped screens. Optional software, Geometry Manager Pro Version 1.1, is available for wider ranging adjustments and masking functions.

A second new range includes a unit described by Panasonic as ‘the industry’s brightest WUXGA 1-Chip DLP projector’. The new PT-DZ870 Series 10,000 lumens brightness projectors feature three models; PT-DZ870 with 8,500 lumens and WUXGA resolution, PT-DW830 with 8,500 lumens and WXGA resolution and PT-DX100 with 10,000 lumens and XGA resolution.

With the incorporation of the new 420W dual lamp and new lamp drive system, the PT-DZ870 series is able to deliver a brightness of 8,500 lumens. The Panasonic proprietary Dynamic RGB Booster, which has been enhanced, optimises lamp intensity of individual Red, Green and Blue colours according to each scene. In addition, Detail Clarity Processor 3 improves clarity, detail, and depth of images and System Daylight View 2 function also helps maintain picture quality even in a lit room.

The projector also features a shielded optical system which blocks dust, and a new heat pipe system for cooling. The PT-DZ870 series is also designed with dual lamp system that eliminates projection interruption due to a lamp failure. Its lamp replacement cycle has been improved from conventional Panasonic 1-chip DLP models for up to 3,000 hours in normal mode and 4,000 hours in eco mode for reduced maintenance.

Meanwhile, the manufacturer has increased its ultra-short throw range with the CW330 Series, including six models – PT-CW330, CW240, CX300, CW331R, CW241R and CX301R, of which the latter three come with an interactive feature and dual pen capability. PT-CW330, CW240, CW331R and CW241R are WXGA models and are able to project an 80-inch diagonal image from 0.6m away. Features include a built in 10W speaker, up to 5,000 hour lamp replacement cycle and Crestron RoomView compatibility.

Finally, the Solid Shine series of LED/Laser combined light source DLP projectors is now shipping. The lamp-free, LED/laser light source technology reportedly ensures a ‘long lasting brightness throughout the life of the projector’. According to the manufacturer, approximately 75 per cent of the original brightness level is retained after 10,000 hours of use.
