Airea extends its appeal

Fohhn Audio AG has specifically designed the ABX-3 Breakout Extension for integration into its digital, networkable and remote controllable Airea system. The new D/A convertor integrates into Airea, connecting master module and compact active loudspeakers via a single Cat-5 or Cat-7 cable.

Sharing the same basic functionality as the existing Airea ABX-1 D/A convertor, the compact ABX-3 breakout box is additionally equipped with Fohhn DSP. This now allows active loudspeakers without integrated Fohhn DSPs to be included into the Airea system. When the ABX-3 is connected into the signal path before a group of these speakers, it acts as their master, providing additional signal processing functions such as EQ and delay. It also facilities more effective remote control when using Fohhn Audio Soft. Equipped with its own Airea-Net outputs, the ABX-3 additionally offers a means of signal routing that allows signals to be split and routed, hence simplifying cabling requirements.

Moving from system design to interior design, Fohhn Texture Design is a new and exclusive coating and lacquering process that aims to produce optimal visual integration of the manufacturer’s loudspeaker systems. In addition to the full range of RAL colours and gloss levels, the German manufacturer has made an extensive selection of photo realistic finishes ranging from stainless steel and carbon to sandstone and marble, in addition to various wood effects. Initially available for Fohhn line source loudspeakers with aluminium housings up to a maximum length of 1.5m, these include models from the Linea LX, Linea Focus and Linea Len Series, in addition to the Airea loudspeakers.
