AKG bangs the drums
Published: PRODUCTS

AKG has released a collection of seven drum microphones and accessories in a rugged aluminium carrying case to capture a complete drum kit or mic bass and guitar amps, percussion, woodwinds and other instruments.
Drum Set Concert I features the D112 mkII dynamic bass drum model, which is renowned for its high SPL capability up to 160dB without distortion and now features a new integrated flexible mount. Designed for cymbal and overhead miking, two low profile C430 professional condenser microphones are included. Four D40 instrument microphones make up the largest proportion of the kit, whose design integrates Varimotion diaphragms with a laminated material for dampening high-resonance peaks. The transducer is protected by a wire-mesh cap designed to withstand SPLs up to 156dB, whilst an integrated stand adapter and mounting bracket makes it ideal for drums, percussion, wind instruments and guitar amps.
Additional frequency bands have been added to the WMS40 Mini and Mini Dual wireless systems to assist in combating overcrowded frequency bands. A universal, switched mode power supply is included for worldwide operation. New frequency options for the WMS40 Mini include US25A 537.500 MHz, US25B 537.900 MHz, US25C 539.300 MHz and US25D 540.400MHz. The dual-band WMS40 Mini2 addresses the combined frequency bands US25A/C and US25B/D.
The K52, K72 and K92 models of headphones feature 40mm drivers offering high sensitivity for greater output, wide frequency response and low impedance. Weighing 200g, the closed-back design of the new models feature an acoustic chamber, which eliminates audio bleed and preserves privacy. A self-adjusting open headband and over-ear design provide comfort during long listening sessions. Operating within a frequency range of 18Hz-20kHz, the K52 provides detailed sound when rehearsing and tracking. With an extended frequency range of 16Hz-20 kHz, the K72 includes a screw-on 6.3mm plug and a 3m cable. The K92 extends the high-frequency performance to 22 kHz and comes with a gold-plated screw-on adapter.
