Allen & Heath upgrades Xone headphones for loud DJ environments

In an update to its Xone range of DJ headphones, Allen & Heath has released the XD-53s professional monitoring headphone. The new release incorporates a raft of new features intended to enhance the DJ experience in particularly loud booth environments, and sports a gunmetal finish.

Designed to complement the manufacturer’s Xone DJ mixers, the XD2-53s retains a circumaural design to facilitate high-level isolation from ambient noise, as well as rotating earpieces for one-ear monitoring, an adjustable metal reinforced headband, and a convenient folding design.
Significant new features include a detachable coiled cable with 3.5mm connector and ¼-inch jack adaptor.

The XD2-53s boast 3,500mW of power handling and a high SPL capacity, whilst the incorporation of 53mm neodymium magnet diameter drivers facilitates a low frequency response.
