Almost unlimited beltpacks with RTS BTR-240

RTS has introduced its latest BTR-240 wireless intercom system, distributed exclusively by Canford Audio, with the promise of support for an ‘almost unlimited’ number of half duplex beltpacks.

The BTR-240 system operates in the licence-free 2.4GHz frequency band and delivers full-duplex operation for up to eight beltpacks.

The system offers two separate audio channels allowing users to communicate on one or both channels. Talk and listen and listen-only modes are selectable on individual or both channels.

The BTR-240 is reportedly suitable for standalone operation, or it can be directly interfaced to wired systems including RTS, Tecpro and Clearcom. TR-240 beltpacks can be configured in one of three operating modes: wireless, wired or master wireless.

Beltpacks incorporate removable, rechargeable Li-Ion batteries which can be used for up to eight hours. These can be recharged within the beltpack or externally using the CHG-240 four-way battery charger.

Meanwhile, a new version of the TW403 Interface that connects Tecpro wireless to the standard Tecpro wired system has also been announced by Canford. The TW403 brings ‘greater flexibility and mobility’ to the wired infrastructure due to the interface acting as a bridge between Tecpro wired and wireless intercoms.

Offering full duplex operation and licence-free operation in the UHF frequency band, the Tecpro Wireless beltpacks (which can supply up to 200mW with a 400M maximum range), now benefit from a range of enhancements. These include a push to talk mode, an adjustable side tone, a fast channel change facility, a selectable mic filter, and a PIN lockable feature.

The interface is suited to temporary rigs as mains power is not required – it takes its power directly from the 24V Tecpro line. It comes complete with a detachable antenna and if the operating range needs to be maximised, an optional TW412 dipole antenna can be added for the best coverage.

Tecpro wireless beltpacks are fitted with removable Lithium Polymer rechargeable batteries that boast up to 16 hours continuous use from a full charge. The manufacturer is keen to state that the new Tecpro units are backward compatible with existing Tecpro wired products.
