AoIP NextGen card decodes any audio format from anywhere

Reportedly fully compatible with hundreds of existing Oslo units already deployed, APT’s new AoIP NextGen card combines audio, IP transport and auxiliary data on a single module providing the user with ‘exceptional’ Audio over IP performance.

Each AoIP NextGen card is capable of decoding four separate streams from four separate sources or time domains, which is said to eliminate issues of clock drift – associated with streaming multiple channels over IP to a single decoder. According to the manufacturer, the AoIP NextGen card can therefore decode ‘any channel, in any audio format, from anywhere’.

The card incorporates APT’s SureStream technology, intended to facilitate broadcast quality audio over public internet links. This reportedly creates operational savings opportunities for broadcasters.

With six cards per Oslo and four channels per card, the unit is able to decode up to 24 streams, including discrete monos with independent bitrates and algorithms, from independent locations.

Each AoIP NextGen card handles its own IP traffic, avoiding any bottlenecks in the system, and embedded aux data means there is no need to invest in additional cards.
