Apart Audio introduces easy-to-operate discussion system
Published: PRODUCTS
Consisting of a chairman and up to 19 delegate units, Dutch-based manufacturer Apart Audio has introduced a new tabletop discussion system for small-to-medium sized applications. The Microphone Discussion System (MDS) is stated to be ‘very easy’ to both setup and operate, making it ideal for use in non-technical settings such as meetings and small conferences. The system comprises three components: MDS.Chair (chairman unit), MDS.Del (delegate unit) and the MDS.INT interface.
The system uses a circuit loop design, interconnecting units with Cat-5 cables. This allows up to 20 delegate units to be daisy-chained with every microphone and switching adapter reportedly able to be positioned anywhere within the chain. The delegates can press a button to enable their individual gooseneck microphone. When the button is selected by the chairman, all of the delegate units are muted and deactivated.
The MDS.INT interface is able to connect to any Apart Audio preamp, matrix or amplifier, allowing user to control the volume or record the discussion.
