APart introduces its first digital 3-channel amplifier
Published: PRODUCTS

APart has introduced the Champ-3D amplifier, the newest model in its series of convection cooled models.
The 3-channel, fully programmable digital amplifier can be used with four MASK8 top speakers and two SUB2400 subwoofers. Featuring a built-in DSP and a speaker configuration wizard, it’s possible to select other APart speakers and subwoofers to complement the amplifier.
The fanless amplifier features three operating modes: fully locked (on/off), volume only, or fully accessible. The ability to ‘lock’ the unit adds a tamper-proof volume control function and prevents a DJ from breaking noise regulations by bypassing an external volume controller.
The energy efficient Champ-3D allows the installer to adapt to difficult acoustic conditions quickly and efficiently, and a separate standby power supply keeps the RS-232 port powered, using just 1.5W. Featuring class D Hypex components, the amplifier is suited for use in environments where a mix of silent operation, reliability and musical quality is required, such as in cafés, pubs, and music bars.
Settings are adapted automatically when the installer selects the speakers, and it will be possible to add future speaker models from the Apart website through an RS-232 software update.
