APx test software V4.1 opens up full input bandwidth

US manufacturer Audio Precision has announced version 4.1 of the software for its APx500 series audio analysers. The release provides full input bandwidth across channels for both the two-channel (Apx555 and Apx525) and 16-channel (APx586) models.

The ability for the analysers to access their system’s maximum input bandwidth across all channels results in 1MHz of input bandwidth for the Apx555 and 525 (with option BW52 installed) analysers and 90kHz of input bandwidth on the Apx586. The software also introduces a wider choice of filter settings in the signal path that allow for an increased range of cutoff frequencies. Improvements have also reportedly been made to the software to more easily allow the user to fully explore the device being tested as well as to provide greater control over the acoustic response time window, with either auto or manual setting of the window start time and establishment of an absolute zero for measurement. This is stated to enable accurate loudspeaker measurements despite the presence of high-level reflections.
