Armonía update turns Powersoft amps into Dante sources

A recently released update has brought Powersoft’s Armonía Pro Audio Suite software to version 2.7.0, adding a number of features including the ability to use certain amplifiers as Dante sources. The update, which can be downloaded now, also includes a new speaker preset v2 (.spk2) file format; this file can be copied directly onto the manufacturer’s X Series amplifiers via USB for later recall via the WebApp interface.
As a result of the update, both X Series and Ottocanali DSP+D amplifiers can act as configurable Dante sources. The feature delivers the option of streaming out eight processed or unprocessed signals, effectively removing the need for standalone analogue to Dante converters in installations. It also means that direct monitoring of the DSP processing can be conducted in software such as Smaart v7.
Other features of the update include a live impedance curve for improved loudspeaker supervision, calculated in real-time and storable/displayable against a reference curve in the new spk2 preset files, plus new RMS and peak limiters with side chain frequency-shaping. At a more basic level, the manufacturer reports that the software’s entire communication protocol has been rewritten to achieve an improved performance. Further functions have been incorporated for the M-Drive and DSP 4 + IPALMOD models.
The release has been timed to coincide with the launch of new firmware for both amplifier ranges, alongside the opening of dedicated online support in the shape of new forums. All of the updates can be downloaded from the forums, where direct support from Powersoft engineers will also be available.
