Atlona Technologies recently announced the availability of its AT-3GSDI-HD2 audio converter, promising full support all audio formats up to eight channels and ‘the industry’s fastest response time’ at a budget-conscious price.
The AT-3GSDI-HD2 is a 3G-SDI/HD-SDI/SD-SDI to HDMI with stereo audio converter that the manufacturer is describing as ‘ideal for the broadcast industry’ and ‘the perfect solution for monitoring and pre- and post-production where SDI camera or computer SDI output needs to be converted to work with HDMI or DVI displays’. The converter also boasts a 0.1-millisecond delay, which Atlona declares makes it ‘faster than any other SDI-type monitor on the market’.
Among its features is the ability to send audio though the HDMI port as well as through a separate stereo audio output when a DVI display is being used; plus full EDID integration; a re-clocked SDI loop-out to allow daisy chaining or connection to a local SDI display; a locking HDMI port for broadcast applications and a locking 5V power supply (with an optional USB power supply also available).
Ilya Khayn, president of Atlona Technologies, added: ‘Competing devices with fewer features are far more expensive, which is why we designed the AT-3GSDI-HD2 to allow broadcasters to lower costs while ensuring the reliability of their systems.’
Meanwhile, Atlona has also announced the ‘feature enhanced’ AT-DIS7-HD – a 7-inch testing monitor designed for integrators looking for a solution to test cabling and monitor or verify audio and video settings on remotely located displays. New features include the ability to view signal information such as HDCP compliance, resolution, frequency, digital format, and audio information. The monitor can recognise any HDMI or DVI source at resolutions up to 1080p and allows users to observe both audio and video signals in real time.
