Audac unifies web-based control

A new free application from Audac is enabling users to build application-specific dashboards capable of controlling multiple pieces of equipment both centrally and from the palm of your hand.
Named Audac Touch and available on Android or iOS, the application merges functions from different devices as widgets on a single screen. Once configured, user accounts are saved in the cloud, allowing the dashboard to be accessed from any mobile device. Different levels of user access are possible, offering system operation, system configuration or overall system administration functionalities.
The Belgian manufacturer has also recently unveiled the XMP44 modular audio player. The unit offers four SourceCon slots, each of which can be fitted with modules such as internet audio players, FM tuners, DAB/DAB+ tuners, USB media player/recorders and contact and time-triggered voice file interfaces. The result is a ‘fully flexible and modular’ audio player, states Audac.
The unit’s front panel integrates a 2.8-inch TFT display and control is from either the front panel rotary knob and four push-buttons or via the aforementioned Audac Touch application. A USB interface for each module allows playback or storage of media files, while each output can be monitored through a built-in speaker. The XMP44 is both RS-232 and TCP/IP controllable, allowing implementation with home and industrial automation systems.
