Audio Forensics Package from Waves

In collaboration with international covert audio specialist Phil Manchester, Waves Audio has released a new plug-in bundle named the Audio Forensics Package and comprising a collection of nine audio plug-ins chosen for use in covert audio investigation applications.

Said to be ideally suited for law enforcement agencies wishing to use covert audio evidence to fight crime and terrorism, the bundle is designed to identify, restore and provide critical audio evidence.

Included within the Audio Forensics Package is a W43 noise reduction plug-in, X-Noise, X-Crackle, X-Hum, X-Click, a C1 compressor/expander, a Q10 paragraphic equaliser, a PAZ frequency analyser, and an L1 ultramaximiser.

Meanwhile, the manufacturer has also released a companion to its Vocal Rider plug-in named Bass Rider – designed to keep bass levels steady throughout a mix without changing the natural sound of user’s intended sound.

Control features include a target energy meter that shows the energy of the input signal, various note response and detector sensitivity options, spill control, and a function that controls the note detector’s tolerance to artefacts.

Additionally, maximum and minimum range functions set the upper and lower boundaries of the Rider Fader movement, and an output function trims the vocal output gain (post-auto riding), whilst an Idle Arrow sets the Rider Fader value when there is no bass activity.

Providing a resolution of up to 24-bit 192kHz, Bass Rider supports TDM, RTAS, Audio Suite, VST, AU and is compatible with a PC or a Mac.
