 Auralex unveils new acoustic solutions

Auralex Acoustics has introduced two new acoustic solutions in the form of the ProMAX panels and the SonoLite bass trap.

The new ProMAX panels are designed to be a portable, lightweight, yet effective absorption treatment for recording and performance applications such as studio rentals, live events and temporary recording. They can reportedly be used in any location where mounting acoustical treatments to the wall is not possible or ideal.

The manufacturer describes the new panels as ‘simple to set up and transport and easily assembled and disassembled for convenient storage’. They have been designed as portable absorbers, as they can be moved and positioned to reduce audible reflections in a recording or listening environment. The panels can also be grouped together to form a portable vocal booth or positioned around a drum kit to ‘tune’ room sounds in recordings and live performance venues. They feature an adjustable contour for precision positioning and are able to be extended up to 2.4m high.

Also new and aimed at low frequency control, the manufacturer’s new SonoLite bass trap is a 3-inch thick, 60cm x 60cm fabric-wrapped Studiofoam Pro core absorption panel. The panel is covered in a velour fabric and is available in both black and tan finish

The bass trap is based on Auralex’s SonoLite absorption panels, which are designed to reduce unwanted reflections and flutter echo. The bass traps have been reverse-beveled for corner mounting and plastic-backed for improved rigidity and durability. SonoLite Bass Traps are packaged with six EZ-Stick SonoLite mounting tabs for removable installation.
