Amphenol’s AX Series XLR connector has been redesigned to complement modern audio architecture
Now available in 3-, 4- and 5-pin models, Amphenol’s AX Series XLR connector has been redesigned to complement modern audio architecture. The chuck-style cable clamp uses a split suiting a cable from 3mm to 8mm OD. Precision-machined pin contacts are standard, with compact 14AWG solder buckets reducing termination time and material wastage during the soldering process. As the miniature version of the standard XLR, the G Series provides maximum durability while taking up minimal space. With die-cast or precision-machined metal housings, the G Series’ metal clamp supports cables from 2mm to 5mm in size. Available in 3-, 4-, 5- and 6-contact options, the XLR features stamped socket contacts or precision machined pin contacts, solder cup or printed circuit board contacts, together with a positive latch-lock and flexible cable grommet.
The manufacturers’ new right-angle T-Series quarter-inch plug offers durability where space is confined.
The plug has a stylised shell with ergonomic grip and a Jaws cable retention system. The die-cast ribbed housing facilitates easy connections, while offering a cable clamp that has been designed to grip in multiple positions, including a ground tag solder point for easy assembly. A strain relief grommet provides superior protection of the cable against flexing movement during use. The precision-machined one-piece tip contact serves all applications such as guitar applications, speakers, audio cables and amplifiers.
