Axon Cerebrum delivers monitoring and control over third party devices

Netherlands-based broadcast specialist Axon Digital is aiming to facilitate control and monitoring of ‘a wide range’ of third-party devices via its Cerebrum software. According to the manufacturer, Cerebrum is unique in jettisoning the specialisation of most control and monitoring software, instead combining both functions to deliver ‘greater flexibility’.
Cerebrum is reportedly designed to work alongside a broad range of devices including routers, production switchers, servers, receiver decoders, multi-viewers and waveform monitors. The system operates via either SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) or third party protocols.
In addition, Axon has also introduced a modular master control named SynMC alongside a modular production mixer dubbed the SynLive. Both are intended to fit in the manufacturer’s signal processing product line Synapse. SynMC is designed to allow users to more easily control automation and transmission hardware and software panels. In contrast, SynLive is a modular live production video mixer comprising customisable modules up to 4K. Its mix engine boasts two DVEs while two engines can be cascaded if required.
Meanwhile, Synapse itself has been bolstered with the addition of an up/down/cross converter in the shape of the GXG400. A dual channel version, the 2XG400, is also available.
Finally, the manufacturer is employing Emsytech Hummingbird Loudness Meters to add loudness monitoring and logging to its compliance recording and video air check system, Tracs.
