B&C targets mid-bass

Providing acoustic designers with a new range of high-efficiency and wide-bandwidth alternatives, B&C Speakers has released the MBX series of mid-bass woofers. The three latest transducers incorporate neodymium motors, inside/outside wound copper clad aluminium wire voice coils, hydrophobic paper cones and a symmetrical inductance profile. Available in 6-, 8- and 10-inch frame sizes, the MBX series is suited for integration within two-way loudspeaker enclosures.

The 6MBX44 is a 6-inch model with a 1.7-inch aluminium voice coil, capable of 400W continuous programme power handling within a 115Hz to 5kHz frequency range. The larger 8MBX51 8-inch brother comes with a 2-inch copper voice coil for cabinets requiring extended bass response (60Hz to 4kHz). Both the 6- and 8-inch versions comes with a ventilated voice coil gap for reduced power compression. The 10MBX64 is a 700W continuous power handling, 10-inch version with a 2.5-inch voice coil, operating within a 65Hz to 6kHz response. Offering 9 dB sensitivity, the 10MBX64 integrates a neodymium inside slug magnet assembly and an aluminium demodulating ring ensuring very low distortion. In addition, a ventilated voice coil gap has been added to reduce overall power compression.
