Barco’s portfolio of Event Master products has also seen growth with the EC-200 and EC-50. Common features include 36 programmable buttons, eight dedicated layer selection buttons and 12 user-definable destination buttons (including a dedicated BG button), all with multi-page selection. The event controllers also possess a high resolution T-bar for manual transitions, customisable LCD displays and enable control of the Event Master video processors.
The EC-200 runs the same Event Master toolset as a MAC or PC, adding a syntax-based programmer to speed up the creation of large show layouts. With a smaller footprint, the EC-50 is designed for smaller events.
Additional features of the EC-200 are a dedicated programming section, a stand-alone controller featuring a custom Linux OS and built-in CPU and two internal 15.6-inch wide-screens with 10-point multi-touch and full HD displays. Its control panel also includes four configurable buttons, a backlit trackball with a rotary encoder and rotary encoder wheels for common layer adjustments, while advanced control of the Event Master video processors is aided by live source selection.
Barco has also recently released a string of projectors at various performance levels, with two new additions to the F90 family and the HDX-4K20 Flex joining the HDX portfolio.
The F90 models are both single-chip DLP laser-phosphor projectors, compatible with motion platforms and provide 3D functionality. It is stated that they allow up to 40,000 hours of operating time without the need for a lamp change.
Each can reportedly run in any orientation, producing a wide lens shift range and accommodating most projector configurations due to their FLD and FLD+ lenses. The F90-W13 has an ultra-short throw of 0.28:1, ranging to a long throw of 9.75:1. The F90-4K13 possess the same long throw, however the ultra-short throw is increased to 0.3:1. The added benefits of the 4K13 are the 4K UHD resolution and highly saturated colours.
Meanwhile, the HDX-4K20 Flex is a 19,000 lumens, three-chip DLP projector that allows for WUXGA, WQXGA or 4K UHD. Similarly, the HDX-420 Flex, equipped with a single Xenon lamp and a high contrast optical engine, allows users to tune and lock the brightness level in incremental steps, from 10,000 to 19,000 lumens.
