Barco teams up with Datasat and THX to produce Auro-3D

In collaboration with Datasat and THX, Barco has announced the release of its Auro-3D sound technology, designed for use in commercial theatres. Datasat is Barco’s partner for the manufacturing of the audio processor, and THX collaborated with Barco to create enhancements to optimise the Auro-3D system’s performance.
Powered by Barco and Auro Technologies, Auro-3D is designed to elevate the cinema sound experience with extreme clarity, and provide ‘the most sophisticated and natural audio experience available’.
According to the manufacturer, the ‘simple and cost-effective’ Auro-3D is 100 per cent backwards and forwards compatible with existing sound systems, and requires minimal hardware investment and installation time.
The three companies are working together to bring Auro-3D sound technology into commercial theatres.
