Bass extension cabinet for Outline’s GTO Series
Published: PRODUCTS

Outline has released the GTO-low, a dedicated bass extension cabinet for the GTO (Grand Touring Outline) Series line array speakers. The cabinet delivers the extended bass response necessary to enhance the sound quality of the GTO line array, and features the same dual 15-inch drive units, physical dimensions and rigging hardware as a standard GTO cabinet.
Benefits include the removal of unwanted low frequencies on stage, much greater control over low frequencies in reverberant spaces, and more precise overall system control in acoustically challenging venues.
The reflex ports are in the same configuration as the main GTO cabinets, which preserve the low-frequency continuity of the array when the cabinets are combined. This allows combinations of GTO and GTO-Low to be deployed in a wide variety of ways depending on the application, venue and space available.
Weighing 72kg, the GTO-Low delivers a frequency response of (-10dB) 28Hz to 300Hz or (±3dB) 40Hz to 225Hz with power handling of 1,200w AES continuous and 4,800w peak. The frequency response of GTO-Low can be adjusted significantly through a range of values to suit various mid/high elements beyond standard GTO, and the manufacturer claims it can easily handle up to 200Hz.
Also new from the manufacturer is the GTO-DF, which is designed to provide high-quality sound to the first several rows of an audience at an event, filling the sonic gap often experienced by event attendees who are seated near the stage.
The GTO-DF offers four 8-inch mid-woofers and two 3-inch compression drivers, and is mechanically compatible with GTO, so it can be easily added to a flying array. Unique to the GTO-DF is a vertical dispersion range of 0-degrees to minus 25-degrees to ensure precision aiming of the sound. The waveguide offers 120-degrees of coverage from 315Hz to 17.5kHz.
