Behringer redesigns XiControl iPad app for X32 console
Published: PRODUCTS
Behringer has released a re-mastered XiControl iPad app for the X32, boasting a new user interface, feature set and slew of performance enhancements. Of particular note, version 2.0 includes control over effects, scene management, input channel setup and monitor mixing.
A key new feature adds complete access to all eight onboard effects processors and allows for the tweaking of effects parameter settings. In addition, all effects processors are presented with the same GUI as seen on the X32 console itself.
Meanwhile, a new remote scenes manager function allows for fast scene changes due to a streamlined and intuitive interface. Additionally, a new recorder control page provides full transport control over record and playback of tracks to or from a thumb drive connected to the X32’s top-panel USB port.
Also new is an improved channel editing tab, which incorporates a complete dynamics section, allowing a user to control the performance of the desk’s 32 preamps from anywhere in a venue. P16 personal monitoring buses can also be controlled from one or multiple iPads, allowing performers to create their own preferred monitor mix, or allowing an engineer to dial-in mixes.
