Biamp enhances Audia VoIP capabilities
Published: PRODUCTS
While developing its Tesira digital media networking platform, Biamp Systems revisited the way it implements Voice over IP (VoIP). This work has led to the manufacturer integrating the findings across its VoIP range.
Central to this is the Audia 5.4 software/4.850 firmware update. With the update, Biamp has made significant changes to enhance VoIP performance, management, and setup. Some of the key new features include out of band DTMF recognition and decoding; SIP auto-negotiation mode; TFTP set by DHCP; support for option 150 TFTP; and watchdog support with 30s reset.
The manufacturer describes the new update as adding ‘state of the art technology that improves system performance, ease of system setup, and day-to-day operations of VoIP integration’.
