Big power in a small package from Clay Paky

Described as ‘the little wash-light that makes a big difference’, Clay Paky’s Sharpy Wash 330 is a compact, lightweight, 330W wash reportedly capable of delivering the luminous efficiency, graphic and optical performance of a 1,000W fixture.

Leading a number of product launches from the manufacturer, the 18.5kg Sharpy Wash 330 is, according to Clay Paky, ‘extremely silent and quick’. Its features include a CMY colour system, special colours, an adjustable beam angle from 6.5-degrees to 48-degrees, a mechanical dimmer, a beam shaping filter and a motorised top-hat. It is available in black, white, gold-plated and ‘mirror-finish’ chrome plated versions.

Also new is the Alpha Profile 800 ST moving beam shaper, incorporating a miniaturised four-blade framing system, a 7.6-degree to 55-degree adjustable beam, an autofocus system and the manufacturer’s Dyna-Cue-Creator function. The 6,000K light also boasts seven rotating gobos plus a nine facet prism, a 16-blade mechanical iris, an interchangeable frost filter, a zero to 100 per cent hybrid dimmer, three-phase pan and tilt motors, and a buffer battery for set-up without mains.

Finally, the GlowUp Strip 100 is a battery-operated, IP65-rated LED bar intended for stage-lighting and outdoor use. Offering a mixed battery and mains power supply (batteries offer 10 hours of operation) with mixed cable or wireless control, the LED bar boasts 10 RGB-W multi-chip LEDs arranged in a line inside a 1m aluminium housing to ‘create a curtain of brightly coloured light’.

The bar’s beam angle can be adjusted from 14-degrees to 70-degrees using an electronic motorised zoom, while the LEDs can be controlled separately in groups of five (the left and right sides). Additionally, a ‘white power saving’ function has been included to optimise power consumption. It can also be connected to a DMX console via cable or through the built-in DMX wireless device, though it can operate without any external controller in a master/slave configuration via a series of presets.
